Frequently Asked Questions PDF Print E-mail

Q: How Can This Be Legit?

On each site they have different offers, for each offers that a user completes the freebie site gets a commission. With this commission the freebie sites can buy your gift, and whats left over is their profit (after all they need to be making a living also!) Let us use an example like Bingos.co.uk. You sign up to this site and deposit £10, play through the deposit (you may even be lucky and win more then you have deposit!), and then the freebies site in question gets £35 (yes its more then you deposit, but the gambling sites hope that you will be coming back and play more!) Then you have to refer the required amount of referrals, say you are going for an xBox360, cost around £270. You refer 10 friends, they all do the Bingos.co.uk offer. The site then gets 11 x £35 = 385 (10 friends plus your own offer) So, from this £385 - £270 = £115 profit, but part of this will go to the maintainance of the web site, postage of the gift and other general costs of running an web site.

Q: What Is Offers?
Offers are what you have to do to get your account credited. Basically look at the Freebie Sites as a marketing portal for internet based companies. Most offers on the Freebie Sites are gambling offers, such as Bingos.co.uk, PacificPoker.com and similar. But you also have other offers, such as Blockbuster Online, LOVEFilm (former ScreenSelect) and insurance offers, such as Home and Car Insurances and others.

Q: What Is Verification?
Verification is what you have to go through after you have done your own offer and referred the correct amount of referrals for your chosen gift item. The time involved in the verification stage differs from site to site but can take as long as up to 45 days. What happens is that the Freebie Site has to confirm that you have done your offer correctly and not been signed up to it previously, they also have to check each and one of your referrals to make sure they have done their offers correctly also. When that is done they will send you your chosen gift item!

Q: What Does Yellow, Green And Red Mean?
As in everything else, the freebie world has their own language and here is one of the most common of them.
Yellow ~ This means that someone has signed up to your account but yet not completed an offer, or they may have completed an offer but it has not been credited to their account yet.
Green ~ At this stage everyone is very happy because that means that the person that signed up to you has completed their offer and been credited for it!
Red ~ *shudders* This we do not want to see, it means that someone has completed an offer, but it has been done fraudulent, either the person did not follow the instructions properly or they done the offer before. May also mean that they have 2 accounts, which is not permitted on most sites, or that they have breached the freebie sites Terms of Conditions.

Q: Will I Have To Pay The Postage?
No! The Postage will be paid by the Freebie Site also!

Q: What Does Pending Mean?
Pending means that he offer you or your referral have done is pending to be credited to your or your referrals account.

Q: What Does Processing/STV Mean?
If your account is saying Processing it means it has past the Verification stage and the Freebie Site is now Processing your order, normally this can go rather quickly, but some Freebie Sites do monthly batches so if you are unlucky your account may just have been Verified shortly after they have sent out a batch and therefore you might have to wait a month, but then again its almost free so it wont really hurt that much now will it?! STV, follows Processing and stands for Sent To Vendor, meaning your order has been dispatched and are on its way, normally after your account says STV you will have your chosen gift item within a week!

Q: What Is A Conga?
A Conga is what most Freebie Forums has to encourage people to sign up and receive referrals for free. For example, eXceem does have Congas and what you do is that you sign up under the top person for the Freebie Site that you are interested in, you complete one of the offers on the Freebie Site and when you have gone green, and been confirmed by the top person, then you will be added to the Conga and when you are at the top you will be receiving referrals that sign up through your link. Just bare in mind that it might take a while since the top person will stay until s/he has received the allocated amount of referrals, normally 5. But sometimes people do use other methods to obtain referrals, and asks to be removed early.
